My Story

I am a birth and postpartum doula, currently working toward certification through Birth Arts International.

While I have always had a love for caregiving, my calling to birth work began during my pregnancy with my first child, Rosemary. Her life and miscarriage was profoundly transformative for me, giving me a deep empathy for motherhood, and a passion for birth, family, and maternal health. Ever since, I have been gathering all of the birth and mothering wisdom I can through reading, classes and most importantly the stories and experiences of my fellow mothers. I believe that the childbearing year is a such miraculous and critical time, and it is my privilege to accompany a woman through her unique journey. I desire to see every woman (and the entire family through her) empowered, nurtured, and helped toward wholeness through skilled and loving companionship during her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum time.

I currently serve families by providing birth and postpartum doula support, as well as creating care baskets and herbal products to support health, comfort and wholeness during the childbearing year.

Prior to beginning my work as a doula, I earned a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Community Development, and went on to study permaculture design. I currently live in South Carolina with my little family: my husband, Steven, and our baby girl, Juniper.  I love them with all my heart! I also love writing, agriculture, cooking, floral work, traditional nutrition and homemaking.
